Australian brewing group Foster’s has appointed Andy Gibson to the role of chief marketing officer, effective November 1, 2011. Gibson will be a part of the company’s executive leadership team.

He succeeds Peter Sinclair, who was promoted to head marketing and commercial development for the African and Eastern business. The company said Gibson, who joined the company after 12 years with Diageo, has more than 20 years experience in consumer brands internationally and a track record in building and transforming some of the major alcoholic beverage brands.

Gibson, during his term in Diageo, held various senior management/marketing roles in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia Pacific and Australia. Recently, he served as General Manager of Diageo’s Germany/Austria/Switzerland operations.

Foster’s Group CEO John Pollaers said the appointment of Andy Gibson is a major step in the process of re-focusing Foster’s/CUB as a dedicated, world-class brewer.

“Andy’s appointment adds to the depth and experience of our senior management team and reaffirms our commitment to investing in the iconic brands that will drive the growth of the business”, Pollaers said.
