Pentair to Showcase Innovations at Food & Drink Technology Trade Fair in Africa

Global company expands regional presence to support growing customer needs Schaffhausen, Switzerland – 18 March, 2014 – Pentair is showcasing its latest innovations and integrated solutions for the beer, beverage, food, dairy and wine industries at the ‘food & drink technology Africa’ trade fair and conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, March 18-19.
The company, a global water, fluid, thermal management and equipment protection partner, offers industry leading products, services and solutions to address the world’s growing needs at the nexus of food, water and energy.

The ‘food & drink technology Africa’ trade fair will focus on all aspects of the food and drink processing value chain.
Pentair will highlight a wide array of food and beverage solutions, including hygienic, aseptic and industrial valves and components; membrane technology for water and beer purification and filtration; continuous beverage processing; beverage dispensing equipment; carbon dioxide (CO2) systems; quality control equipment; microfiltration and biogas upgrading.
Expanded Regional Presence Serves Local Customers Pentair’s presence in Africa includes not only its Food & Beverage business, but also its businesses that serve the energy, industrial and residential industries:
• Drawing on the combined resources and expertise within its Food & Beverage business, Pentair was
recently awarded a contract to supply a complete cold block processing solution for a major brewery in
Ethiopia with an annual beer production of 2 million hectoliters.
• Pentair’s Valves & Controls business supplies critical valves and actuators to the oil and gas industry
across the continent, as well as to a major copper mine in Democratic Republic of the Congo and major
gold mines in Ghana.
• Pentair’s Aquatic Systems business works with leading retailers in South Africa to sell and distribute its
broad range of products including pool cleaners, pumps, filters, lights and tools.
• Pentair’s Technical Solutions business provides heat tracing systems for long pipeline heating applications
as well as enclosure solutions to customers in Africa.
Pentair’s expansion in Africa includes the opening of a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya in Spring 2014. The office
will allow the company to provide local insights and support, as well as provide customers access to Pentair’s
diverse portfolio of products, solutions and services from all of its businesses.
The Nairobi office will also serve as a centralized hub for Pentair’s community outreach efforts in Eastern Africa.
Pentair is working with groups including The Nature Conservancy, Action Against Hunger and Shining Hope for
Communities to bring sustainable access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene to communities throughout the region.
