Ziemann has been awarded a contract to further expand the Compa??a Cervecera de Coahuila in Mexico
All Mexican beer for the U.S. market shall come from Piedras Negras

Ziemann International GmbH, Ludwigsburg, is further expanding the Compa??a Cervecera de Coahuila in Piedras Negras, Mexico. The order was placed by CIH International S.?.r.l., a subsidiary of Constellation Brands Inc., which acquired Grupo Modelo’s brewery in Piedras Negras in 2013 along with perpetual rights to exclusively produce, market and sell the Modelo brands in the U.S., including the top-selling import brand, Corona Extra.

The Compa??a Cervecera de Coahuila currently has an annual output of 10 million hectoliters of beer. This first expansion stage of the brewery was also planned and built by Ziemann. The current expansion will double the size of the brewery to an output of 20 million hectoliters. Piedras Negras will then be one of the largest and most technologically advanced breweries in the world. “We are very delighted that Constellation Brands, as a new customer, has entrusted us with this very significant project. This underlines the great reputation our performance enjoys in the market”, said Mr. Karl Butzmann, Managing Director of Ziemann.

Constellation Brands is a leading international producer and marketer of beer, wine and spirits and the world’s leader in premium wine. The acquisition of Grupo Modelo’s U.S. business by Constellation Brands has made the company the number three beer company in the U.S. with high-end, iconic imported brands including Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo and Pacifico. All Mexican beer for the U.S. market shall be brewed in Piedras Negras.
