A new “Ice Age”

During the BrauBeviale ZIEMANN will be presenting “ICE AGE” – a novel technology supplying breweries with natural cooling

With the novel technology “ICE AGE” ZIEMANN International GmbH, Ludwigsburg will once again impressively demonstrate its innovative drive at the BrauBeviale. ICE AGE permits the regenerative cooling of a segment that is responsible for more than 40 percent of the total electricity consumption of a brewery – the refrigeration. At the heart of this process is the storage of natural cold in the form of artificial snow, which produces cold water when melting, thus supplying the consumers within the brewery with cooling energy. Cold generation by means of ICE AGE has a 50-fold to 70-fold higher “Coefficient Of Performance” (COP) than modern brewery refrigeration systems.

With three months of snow production and one melting month, ICE AGE is able to buffer one third of the annual cooling requirement of a brewery, with highest energy efficiency. During the remainder of the year, the existing refrigeration system supplies the cooling requirement. Even a conservative estimate results in an attractive amortization period for the investment.

Moreover, Ziemann will demonstrate at the BrauBeviale that the company offers sophisticated and tailor-made solutions for both craft breweries and large-scale breweries – from the brewhouse to the bright beer tank cellar. The product range in the brewhouse covers the malt intake, grist mills, mash vessels, lauter tuns, mash filters, wort kettles and the whirlpool up to the wort cooling. For the cold block area Ziemann offers fermentation and storage tanks, bright beer tanks, yeast and water tanks as well as the required process technology. For modernizations, capacity expansions as well as for completely new brewery plants – Ziemann provides innovative solutions and is a competent and reliable partner.
Ziemann International GmbH has become a member of the China International Marine Container (CIMC) Group since August 2012 and within this group is a 100% subsidiary of the Dutch CIMC Enric Tank and Process B.V.
