USA. ZIEMANN HOLVRIEKA acquires another renowned craft brewer as a new customer

One Lotus and a dozen of tanks

With the Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits Company, ZIEMANN HOLVRIEKA has acquired another renowned US craft brewer as a new customer. The brewery from San Diego, California ordered, within the scope of a capacity expansion, one “Lotus” lauter tun with a diameter of 7.6 meters.

A further part of the project are 12 cylindro-conical tanks with a height of 15 meters, 5 meters in diameter and a fermentation capacity of around 2,000 hl. According to Ballast Point, ZIEMANN HOLVRIEKA’s innovative technology, the quality of the products as well as the great flexibility in the project management were decisive factors for placing the order with ZIEMANN HOLVRIEKA.

Ludwigsburg, February 18, 2016 – Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits Company was founded in 1996. With more than 40 beer styles, the company is today one of the fastest growing craft breweries in the USA. Compared to the year 2014/2015, the annual output increased again by 100 percent. Other pillars of the company, with around 500 employees, are distilled spirits as well as the trade with equipment and raw materials for home brewers. An interesting detail: on November 15, 2015 Constellation Brands Inc. announced the acquisition of Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits Company for one billion US dollars. In 2013, the same company already acquired the Compañía Cervecera de Coahuila, Mexico, in whose current expansion phase from 10 to 25 million hectoliters per year, ZIEMANN HOLVRIEKA also plays a central role.
