From January till April 2016, the beer production in China was cut by 6.3% to 134.28 mln hl as NBSC informs.

And in April, there was a 8.6% downslide to 35.78 mln hl.

As we can see the decline started in 2014 is currently aggravating.

The main long-standing reasons for the negative dynamics of the beer market are 1) the consumption decrease among the employees in the industries that underwent structural changes of the economy, 2) population ageing, 3) the share growth of low alcohol cocktails and liquors in the structure of alcohol consumption, and 3) the beer market premiumization linked to the sales slump of low quality cheap beer.
