UK. Carlsberg extends credit scheme for pubs

Under the scheme, licensees earn credits whenever buying products or promotional material from the brewer, which can then be redeemed against a range of 3,000 gift items, such as plasma screen TVs.
Previously, the scheme only operated in the run-up to Christmas.
David Scott, director of customer marketing, remarked: “We have found from talking tpo our customers that offering free stock only provides a short-term boost to licensees’ businesses.
“It doesn’t help drive footfall. But by offering Carlsberg Credits, we are giving customers the chance to save up and then redeem Credits later on for items that will help not only drive customers into their outlets, but keep them there.”
