Andrew Molson will assume the role of chairman and Pete Coors will assume the role of vice chairman

In a planned transition consistent with the Company’s by-laws, Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP) (TSX: TAP) today announced that Andrew Molson, the current vice chairman of the Molson Coors board of directors will assume the role of chairman, and Pete Coors, current chairman, will assume the role of vice chairman, effective May 26, 2011. The by-laws provide for the chairman and vice chairman to alternate between the Molson and Coors families every two years. (more…)

This month, we have decided to run The Wehring Interview over two instalments. After all, having waited so long to speak to Heineken’s CEO, I have a lot of questions for him. Luckily, I’ve been granted plenty of time in which to ask them.
Early May. A Thursday lunchtime. London. The CEO of Heineken, Jean-Fran?ois van Boxmeer, is in town to meet up with a Lehman of analysts – yes, that is the collective noun. Prior to their grilling, he’s got me to deal with for an hour, one-to-one, up the Oxo Tower. It’s quite an impressive view of the city of London from up here, right on London’s south bank, but the view is not front of mind for me. (more…)

Belgian brewer Duvel Moortgat on Monday said its turnover for the first quarter “presents good internal growth”. All brands, with the exception of Bel Pils, are progressing.
