SABMiller India is launching Haywards 5000 and Knockout beer brands in one litre PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) packs in Maharashtra on a trial basis. According to a report by Viveat Susan Pinto in the Business Standard, PET bottles can be recycled to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills.

TJ Venkateshwaran, Director- Sales, SabMiller India said, “We believe it has the potential to be 20 per cent of our mix in the medium term and 30 per cent in the long term.” The bottles will mention ‘best used within 45 days from the date of manufacture.’
