The Italian Court of Appeal in Milan supported the Italian importers of the Budweiser Budvar brand in its ruling. The dispute originated in 2001 by the legal action brought by Anheuser-Busch Inbev (hereinafter referred to as ABI) and its Italian representative Birro Peroni Industriale S.P.A. against Budweiser Budvar for alleged unfair competition and breach of rights to their trademarks of “Budweiser“, “Bud“ and similar by importing beer of the “Budweiser Budvar” brand to Italy and selling it there. Budweiser Budvar increased its gross profit by 7% last year

Budweiser Budvar, N.C. has made its audited economic and business results for 2010 public today. Due to a difficult situation on the beer market the beer sales decreased by 5.2% last year. This slump was, however, fully compensated by efficient purchases of material and services, reduction of inefficient overhead costs, forex securing against the strengthening Czech koruna as well as many other precautions. Owing to that Budweiser Budvar’s last year economic results before taxation noted a year-on-year increase of 7%, reaching an amount of CZK 220 million. (more…)

UK. Marston’s: managed pub sales boost

Marston’s has announced a 2.9% uplift in like-for-like sales in its managed pubs division for the 42 weeks to 23 July.

Krones reports rising sales and profit in H1 2011
