United Breweries Ltd. (532478.BY) said Monday second-quarter net profit fell 11%, pressured by higher costs and increased interest outgo.
Net profit for the quarter through September slipped to INR195.2 million from INR219.1 million a year earlier, missing the INR238 million forecast by brokerage IDFC Securities Ltd.
Sales jumped 30% to INR7.33 billion from INR5.62 billion, the maker of Kingfisher beer said.
Total costs jumped 31% to INR7.02 billion while interest costs surged 42% to INR176.7 million.
