MillerCoors, a joint venture between SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing, plans to upgrade its brewery in Trenton with an investment of around $25m.

With the new capital improvement, MillerCoors Trenton aims to streamline its process, save money and improve safety.

MillerCoors Trenton interim vice president Jon Hussey said the company is adding cardboard box manufacturing shop on site for its glass bottles.

“The new box manufacturing shop will start production by the end of 2012,” said Hussey. “We would previously buy those cardboard cases prefabricated then fill them with bottles at the brewery.”

In addition, the company is planning to invest around $4.5m to increase draft filtration capacity.

At present, the Trenton brewery produces 65 different brands including Molson Golden and Molson Ice and may add two more Molson Coors brands this year.
