New Belgium Brewing has contracted Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P) to build the brewery’s East Coast brewing facility in Asheville, North Carolina, US.
Located on the existing 18-acre brownfield site along the French Broad River, the facility is expected to help the company to double its brewing capacity to almost 1.5mbpy.
The US-based brewery is considering investing $175m in constructing the facility over the next seven years.
The project is likely to provide more than 350 construction jobs, including additional jobs for vendors and suppliers during the two years of construction.
Construction of the proposed 150,000ft? facility is anticipated to begin in early 2013.
East Coast brewing facility is scheduled to go on stream in the early 2015.
Began operations in 1991, New Belgium brews nine year-round beers –Fat Tire Amber Ale, Sunshine Wheat , Ranger IPA, Belgo IPA, Shift Pale Lager, Blue Paddler Pilsner, 1554 Black Ale, Abbey, and Trippel, as well as a host of seasonal releases.
