The trend of complication of Russian beer market is going on and in several directions at the same time. The range has got wider, the import and small segments are growing, namely craft beer, alcohol-free beer and special flavor beer. At the same time, all ex-mega brands and light lagers by Russian brewers are experiencing a decline of their shares. AB InBev Efes, Heineken, MBC and Pivzavod Trekhsosenskiy have exceeded the market, Carlsberg was developing slower than the market and Ochakovo as well as some other mid-sized breweries have been cutting down their volumes. Craft brewers are facing a serious danger of producers’ registration introduction – de facto licensing. ...

With Shark, Lotus, Colibri and Diamond
The traditional brewery Faust in Miltenberg has awarded a contract for an extensive brewhouse modernization to Ziemann International GmbH, Ludwigsburg. The brewhouse will be equipped with a Shark wort boiling system, a lauter tun with Lotus technology and a mash filter with a Colibri agitator. In addition, the brewery Faust decided in favour of a Diamond stripper, which works on the principle of a continuous dynamic coolship.
“The fact that the proven, traditional brewing processes can be transferred one-to-one with these innovations, was the main reason for Faust’s decision in favour of Ziemann. Moreover, the future brewing processes will be more gentle and the resource consumption can be reduced in a sustainable way”, summarizes Mr Klaus Gehrig, Managing Director of Ziemann, the reasons for placing the order with Ziemann. “We are very proud to have been awarded another contract in the growing segment of craft breweries”.
