On 28 December, Wugang City of Hunan Province witnessed the laying of the foundation stone of a new brewery of Anheuser-Busch InBev. The event was attended by the representatives of the municipal authority of Wugang.
The production base of AB InBev occupies an area of 500 acres. The construction project includes three steps. According to preliminary estimates the total investment will be 1.6 billion yuan, 600 million yuan of which has already been invested in the project.
The capacity of the brewery will reach 2.5 million hectolitres of beer per year. The completion of the project will contribute to the development of the transport network of the city and will give impetus to the development of food and other related industries.
The company has already spent 454 million yuan on obtaining permits, purchase of land and installation of temporary communications. In 2016 the construction of the new brewery is planned to be completed and in October 2017 it is to be put into operation.
