Vietnam: Annual beer consumption expected to reach 4 billion litres by 2015

Annual beer consumption in Vietnam, that is taking the second position in beer consumption in the Southeast Asian Region, after Cambodia, is expected to increase to 4 billion litres by 2015, according to the nation’s industry and trade ministry (MoIT). The country’s beer consumption has risen by an average of 20% per year since 2003. Last year around 2.7 billion litres of beer were sold in the domestic market, according to figures released by MoIT . (more…)

Heineken International renews UEFA Champions League sponsorship

Heineken International has announced that it has extended its contract with UEFA to sponsor the UEFA Champions League for a further three years. Heineken’s new agreement will see its current deal with the world’s most prestigious club tournament extend until the end of the 2014/15 season. US. Craft Brewer Sales Growth Accelerating in Latest Scan Data

Craft brewers had another excellent sales report in Symphony IRI Group scan data of beer sales in supermarkets, drug stores and convenience stores. The strong latest results showed faster growth than the year to date, which showed faster growth than the 52-week rolling year. (more…)

Andrew Molson will assume the role of chairman and Pete Coors will assume the role of vice chairman

In a planned transition consistent with the Company’s by-laws, Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP) (TSX: TAP) today announced that Andrew Molson, the current vice chairman of the Molson Coors board of directors will assume the role of chairman, and Pete Coors, current chairman, will assume the role of vice chairman, effective May 26, 2011.
