India. Liquor, beer sales go up by 15% in Telangana

Despite opening of toddy shops, Telangana has created a new record in sale of liquor and beer. Over five crore cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer were sold in the ten districts of Telangana till February. Another 10 to 15 lakh cases are expected to be added in March, this year. The sales of liquor and beer fetched Rs 11,450 crore to the state government so far. (more…)

India. Vijay Mallya, not Heineken has the right to choose UB’s successor

Although Dutch brewer Heineken is the biggest stakeholder in United Breweries, joint venture partner Vijay Mallya has the right to choose his successor as chairman of the company, according to the terms of a 2009 agreement. World of Beer To Open First International Location In China

World of Beer, the Tampa-based craft tavern concept featuring 550+ craft and international beers, today announced it has signed a franchise agreement to expand internationally for the first time. The new tavern will be located in Shanghai, China and is slated to open in the second quarter of this year. China. Snow Beer expands its production

One of the leaders of the China’s brewing industry the Snow Beer company plans to build a brewery with an area of 300 hectares in Long Lane city.
