Craft beer may not be making the sort of waves in Malaysia that it is in the United States, but there IS a growing market and demand for craft beers here. Where we used to only get beers from the two major breweries – Guinness Anchor Berhad and Carlsberg Malaysia, there is now a much bigger selection of beers from all over the world available in craft beer outlets such as Taps Beer Bar, The Great Beer Bar, Ales & Lagers, and Messrs Barley, Malt & Hops. Criticising the government policy of allowing more beer and wine parlours in the state, KPCC chief V M Sudheeran on Thursday called for an ‘in-depth study’ into their impact and corrective measures. Carlsberg Kazakhstan announced the results for the year 2015

In 2015, the Kazakhstan beer market has not grown. But the share of Carlsberg Kazakhstan on the Kazakhstan beer market showed a steady positive growth trend and amounted to 33.2% by volume, which is 3.2% more than at the end of 2014. (more…)
