Since 2017 Russia will ban beer in 1.5 liters plastic bottles

The Russian government has prepared amendments to the legislation providing for a ban on the production and sale of alcohol in plastic bottles larger than 1.5 liters, reported on the website of the Cabinet. It is expected that this will reduce the consumption of alcoholic beverages, which dropped significantly during the crisis. (more…)

China. New 500 ml volume Snow Beer instead of 580 ml

On 27 May, it became known that the usual «big green stick» bottle of Snow Beer of 580 ml was substituted by a new pack of 500 ml. A row of supermarkets practically do not propose beer in the old pack any more as it was replaced by half-liter bottle which has already become standard. (more…)

China. Tsingtao building brewery in Jimo for $33 mln, while Carlsberg closes a plant in Bozhou.

On May 24, 2016, at a board meeting an elective resolution was taken to close Chongqing Brewery Bozhou Co., Ltd in Anhui, with a production capacity of 40 mln liters of beer per year.

Closing the brewery in Anhui province fully complies with the optimization policy which was agreed upon at Chongqing Brewery Co., Ltd board meeting on 27 November, 2015. (more…)

Vietnam. 4 enterprises occupied 88.4% of the beer industry

In 2015, although the national beer output reached 3.4 billion liters, according to the Association of Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Vietnam (VBA), over 5 years, the growth rate of the beer sector was dwindling rapidly as in 2011 it was 8.5%, and fell to 4.7% by 2015. (more…)
