Heineken International renews UEFA Champions League sponsorship

Heineken International has announced that it has extended its contract with UEFA to sponsor the UEFA Champions League for a further three years. Heineken’s new agreement will see its current deal with the world’s most prestigious club tournament extend until the end of the 2014/15 season. The partnership is set to continue to be an important component of the beer brand’s global sports sponsorship strategy while supporting the growth objectives of the brand. (more…)

Heineken sponsors 3 more years of Champions League

Europe’s biggest brewer Heineken (HEIN.AS) is extending its sponsorship of UEFA Champions League soccer for a further three years, which analysts estimate is worth around 20 million euros ($28 million), on the eve of this season’s final between Barcelona and Manchester United. (more…)

This month, we have decided to run The Wehring Interview over two instalments. After all, having waited so long to speak to Heineken’s CEO, I have a lot of questions for him. Luckily, I’ve been granted plenty of time in which to ask them.
Early May. A Thursday lunchtime. London. The CEO of Heineken, Jean-Fran?ois van Boxmeer, is in town to meet up with a Lehman of analysts – yes, that is the collective noun. Prior to their grilling, he’s got me to deal with for an hour, one-to-one, up the Oxo Tower. It’s quite an impressive view of the city of London from up here, right on London’s south bank, but the view is not front of mind for me. (more…)
