Beer market of Kazakhstan acquired both traits of East European countries and South Eastern Asia taking a transitional position between them by many criteria and consumption style. Yet there is a positive trend in beer production which differs Kazakhstan from most of the neighboring countries. The market has remained consolidated in the hands of two international players because of its small size. However, it faces dynamic processes such as fast growth of draft beer sales, up and downs of regional companies and Carlsberg Group’s ultimate expansion. Excessive mainstream segment has declined over the recent years, yet, Zhigulevskoe and national brands with regional links have yielded their positions to a range of new products. In our review special attention was paid to regional analysis of the markets. In 14 regions of Kazakhstan we compared the companies’ positions, the market price segmentation and DIOT channel development. OMNIUM by ZIEMANN – flexible, efficient, forward-looking
The decisive core component of the advanced brewhouse design OMNIUM by ZIEMANN is the dynamic lautering system NESSIE by ZIEMANN, which was presented for the first time at the BrauBeviale in 2016. In a continuous process, the mash is separated into wort and spent grains and the extract is obtained by a target-oriented guiding of the generated streams. This results in short process times, high yields and excellent wort qualities.
The decoupling of the brewhouse process streams into their respective sub-processes runs through the entire OMNIUM design like a recurring theme. The associated optimization of the process steps allows, among other things, to work with a variety of raw materials. As an example, old cereals are to be named, which were previously classified as less suitable for industrialized production processes. Moreover, it is possible to intervene in the individual process steps in such a way that both the yields and all valuable ingredients can be optimized and fluctuating malt qualities can be compensated.
Schlossbrauerei Reckendorf is the first brewery worldwide, which brews with this novel brewhouse since April 2018. “The decision for the OMNIUM brewhouse is essentially based on the much greater flexibility” explained Dominik Eichhorn, brewmaster and managing director of the Schlossbrauerei Reckendorf. Further advantages that have convinced Eichhorn of OMNIUM are the shorter process times and the smaller space required for this new brewhouse design. The practical experience has impressively confirmed the expectations set by Eichhorn in the OMNIUM brewhouse: “Already after a short time it was apparent that the OMNIUM worts were very promising during fermentation. In addition, our beer is noticeably softer and more elegant.”
