CJSC Sarmat, one of the four largest beer producers in Ukraine, has been reorganized as a private joint-stock company and renamed Miller Brands Ukraine, according to a company press release.
This was the final stage of Sarmat’s integration in the structure of SABMiller plc, one of the world’s leading breweries.
The company intends to focus on the development of licensed brands.
“Focusing on premium brands allows us to increase the attractiveness of our portfolio for consumers and has a positive impact on the profitability of our business,” reads the document.
PJSC Miller Brands Ukraine is a brewery with production facilities in Donetsk. Since July 2008, the company has been a subsidiary of SABMiller plc, which acquired a 99.84% stake in CJSC Sarmat. Among the brands promoted by the company in Ukraine are both local (the Sarmat line-up) and international ones such as Miller Genuine Draft, Velkopopovicky Kozel, and Amsterdam Mariner.
