Japan’s Kirin Holdings Company on Friday reported the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake, which struck on March 11, continued to place downward pressure on the Japanese economy during the first six months of this year, especially in production. Kirin Brewery Co. is planning to raise beer output to make up for lost output at a quake-damaged brewery in northern Japan during the peak demand summer season, and will decide as soon as this month when to restart the brewery, a company spokesman said Friday. (more…)
