Drahom?ra Mand?kov? (38) has been named director of corporate relations and communication at Plze?sk? Prazdroj. She will fall back on her experience from her previous position as manager of customer relations in Plze?sk? Prazdroj, together with her 11-year experience in our sister company, Pivovary Topvar, in Slovakia.

Plzensky Prazdroj to open a new PET bottle line

Plze?sk? Prazdroj will be investing CZK 150 million in a new PET bottling line at its Plze? brewery. The line will be located in Prazdroj’s Plze? brewery in the current packaging hall, and its maximum capacity will be 18,000 bottles per hour. (more…)

SABMiller: The number of pub restaurants with tanks has increased 60-fold in the last 15 years

At the beginning of 1996, 12 pub restaurants with tanks were operating in the Czech Republic. That number has multiplied in the last 15 years by about 60 times. Today, there are approximately 740 pub restaurants that have tanks from all breweries, and they represent about one-tenth of the sale of beer on tap. About 70 percent of all pub restaurants serve brands by Plze?sk? Prazdroj, and up until now more than 770 million beers have been drunk from their tanks. (more…)

India. SABMiller loses fizz in market race

The India story is not as good as the beer for SABMiller. The London-listed beer giant, which often carries the tag of being the world’s most aggressive brewer, has seen its market share drop to little above 20%, down from 35% in three years. The company, with a portfolio of blockbuster beers such as Foster’s, Royal Challenge Premium Lager and Haywards 5000, has struggled to hold on to its one-fifth share during the third quarter ended December in the current financial year. Pilsner Urquell again named most-sold foreign beer in Germany

The Pilsner Urquell lager was named the most-sold brand of foreign beer in 2010 in Germany, according to a survey by Getr?nke magazine (the most important magazine covering the beverage market in Germany), which mainly surveys large German chains.
