Chile. CCU 2010 Net Profit Falls 13.5% To CLP110.7 Billion

Chilean beverage company Compania Cervecerias Unidas SA’s (CCU, CCU.SN) 2010 net profit dropped 13.5% to 110.7 billion Chilean pesos ($229.8 million) on nonoperational charges last year, compared with CLP128.0 billion the year earlier, the company said late Wednesday. (more…)

SABMiller: The number of pub restaurants with tanks has increased 60-fold in the last 15 years

At the beginning of 1996, 12 pub restaurants with tanks were operating in the Czech Republic. That number has multiplied in the last 15 years by about 60 times. Today, there are approximately 740 pub restaurants that have tanks from all breweries, and they represent about one-tenth of the sale of beer on tap. About 70 percent of all pub restaurants serve brands by Plze?sk? Prazdroj, and up until now more than 770 million beers have been drunk from their tanks. (more…)
