It’s been two weeks since Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa signed the file to down shutters of 500 Tasmac shops across the State and reduce the operating hours of outlets. Since that description fits me to “T”, the beer already had my attention before I had even taken a sip. Some like it light, while there are others who prefer a stronger flavour. A chat with some of the brewmasters in the microbreweries in the city will tell you that each type of beer, be it wheat, lager or dark, is preferred by a certain kind of drinker. India. Proposal sent to shut 23 Tasmac outlets in Coimbatore

The district unit of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) has sent a proposal to the state government to shut 23 Tasmac outlets. Officials confirmed that 13 of the outlets are located in Coimbatore North and 10 of them are in Coimbatore South. (more…)
